Lake Livingston State Park 10K

Today we hiked at Lake Livingston State Park.  It is a year round event that can be done most any day.  We got the walk box from the rangers station, registered, and headed out.
We learned that this 10K event is made up of three sections. The first section goes out on the Pineywood Nature trail. It goes for quite a ways on just dirt trail.   DSCF9245 Then we came to a raised boardwalk section.  The boardwalk goes in a circle and you get off at the same spot you got on to return to the ranger’s station to do the second loop.

Leaving the ranger station walk on the boardwalk between the parking areas. When you get to the end of the boardwalk look directly ahead. No trail marking present.  Section two is a 3K out and back. You return to the ranger station and start section.

Section three is a 2K out and back. It starts out the same way as Section two but you turn left and walk along with the lake on your right.

It was 101 when we finished, but it was a great Volksmarching event.
