Lampasas, TX 10K

Todays walk was a Year Round Event in Lampasas, TX.  The walk starts out along the Riverwalk along Sulphur Creek.  It leaves the creek to visit Lampasas’ first cemetery.  We return to the creek for a short ways and then head uptown to the Courthouse Square.  Lampasas is the County Seat of Lampasas County and has a lovely courthouse that was built in the 1880s.  This is the second courthouse, the first one built in 1856 was destroyed by fire.

The walk continues past the old Santa Fe Railroad Depot (1901) out to Hanna Springs where there is the remains of an old bathhouse (1880s).  Hanna Springs has a nice walking track and there are several different types of artwork displayed along the track.

Leaving Hanna Springs the walk goes into the residential district with it’s many historical homes.  Returning from the residential district back into downtown and then back to Sulphur Creek with it’s many duck families.  You continue along the creek to another historical bathhouse location.  Leaving there you pass by Brook Park on the way back to the start.
