Today we hiked in the Tyler State Park. It is a year round event that can be done most any day. We registered at the Ranger’s station and drove to the trail head down at the boat docks on the lake.
The Park is 985.5 acres. It is located in Smith County, north of Tyler, TX. There is a 64-acre lake with boating and fishing. The land was deeded by private owners in 1934 and 1935. Original improvements were made by the CCC. The park opened in 1939.
