Herman Park 10K Year Round

We headed to Houston on Friday morning.  We started walking at 8:00 am (45 degrees and sunny) and had a great walk.  The walk started at the Wyndham Hotel at the Medical Center.  We passed this park at the corner of Main and Holcomb.

Walk Route followed streets by the UT School of Nursing, Biomedical Science and School of Public Health were we saw some nice landscaping.

We continued past the Medical Center and saw this statue on Cambridge Street.

We followed a nice trail that circled the golf course.

There were birds sunning themselves at the edge of the ponds in the golf course.

We walked on a nice path to the golf course club house.

We passed another nice pond that was reflecting this cypress tree.

The walk route took us to the Museum of Natural History where this statue is located.

We walked some of the Museum District before heading back into Herman Park where we passed the Miller Outdoor Theatre which is being renovated.

Passing the theatre we continued on to the Pioneer Memorial Monument complete with reflecting pool just like Washington’s Monument.

We eventually ended up back on Main headed back to the walk start.  This is a nice area for walking.
