10K at Tyler State Park

We headed out to East Texas on Saturday morning to visit the state park north of Tyler.  It was a little cold when we started but it soon warmed up.  Half the walk was on park roads though which I disliked.

It was much nicer once we got off the roads.  First we crossed the dam.

We did some wood walking and then came to this inlet which we crossed on this nice bridge and watched the Mallards for awhile.

We continued on in the woods and enjoyed climbing over exposed roots.

We got another view of the lake and then had smooth walking for awhile on this boardwalk.

When we got to this parking lot we weren’t far from our parked car.

If interested in doing this Volksmarch in the park, the park entrance fee is $5.00.
