Round Rock Volksmarch (10K)

The Round Rock event is a Year Round.  We went to the BACA center and got the walk box, registered and started out.

Leaving the BACA Center we headed over to Main Street with it’s Historical Markers, sculpture plaza, Memorial and Historic Homes.

The walk continued through residential areas with nice garage door murals and other interesting things.

The walk continued over to a Memorial Park for Robert P. Hernandez who lost his life fighting for this country in Vietnam.  The park is on Brush Creek and has a dam with some pretty waterfalls.  We saw a turtle out for a stroll, but he wouldn’t stick his head out for a picture.

The walk went out to THE Round Rock that the city is named for.  Leading up to is tracks carved in the lime rock by the pioneers wagons who passed through here.  Up the hill from the round rock is a park with sculptures.
