Big Springs State Park Volksmarch – 12/28/14

The walk started at the Ranger Station which was built by the CCC.

We walked down and picked up the Nature Trail.

The steps on the nature trail.

We came to the fenced Prairie Dog Town, but we didn’t see these little guys there. The fence had a hole in it and there were no rodents there. We found these cuties outside the park near the Veteran’s Memorial.

After the nature trail we took to the park roads.  We had a view of the wind farm across the valley on top of a mesa.

Cactus and rocks are abundant along the park roads.

The park road circles the top of the mesa.
