Mission San Jose (San Antonio) 7/22/2017

We did an event today that started at Mission San Jose.  It is a 13K walk along the San Antonio River to reach Mission Concepcion, but we only did the 6K, so we didn’t reach it.  The walk is an out and back along the paved riverwalk section which was completed in 2013. I only took pictures going one way. Once we turned around I put my camera away.

Walk started at the visitor’s center for Mission San Jose.

Posing with the marker.

Old water tower along the trail.

Posing with the arched bridge.

Walk doesn’t cross the bridge, we just wandered out to look at the river.

Looking upstream you can see a small dam with overflow.

Back on the walk route we pass a pavilion.

I’m no bird expert, I think this is an egret.

Another man made waterfall.

Another side trip to look at the river.

Ruins visible across the river.

Information board with information about the ruins.

Another bird in the river.

Another view of the river.

Small shaded rest area with Park rules.

VFW Bridge

Sign board about the “Catch and Release” policies of fishing in the river.

Another nice arched bridge.
