Rockwall, TX – 06/22/2018

Rockwall is the Rockwall County Seat.  It is the smallest county (land wise) in Texas.   We walked on a Friday again so we could get inside the courthouse and take a picture of another skylight under a courthouse dome.  This dome was not on the walk route.  We visited before we started walking.

Rockwall’s fourth courthouse was built in 2011. Under its dome is a white skylight with a gold star in the middle.

Our walk started at Harry Myers Park.

We walked under the arbor.

We crossed the small lake.

The park had one steep hill.

On the far side of the park is the Historic Museum area.

We passed the school’s football stadium.

We went through a residential area.

Past this Victorian home.

Rockwall’s City Hall.

Lutheran Church

The fire trucks are painted on the garage doors.

A former bank building from 1916.

Relief art eagle on the corner of the old courthouse.

1936 Texas Centennial Marker

Former Masonic Lodge building from 1885.

Small pocket park before heading back to our car in Myers Park.
