Muenster, TX – 11/30/2019

Muenster is a small town 15 miles west of Gainesville and I-35.  They were holding an unsanctioned event to see if there was any interest in starting a club here.

Cute photo cutout in front of the Antique Mall where the walk started.

Jeannine was overseeing the registration.

Harold was greeting the walkers.

Across the street from the start was this Baptist Church.

Lovely home is now a Bed and Breakfast.

Cute turkey decoration.

Beautiful, animated, musical clock that puts on a show every hour (which we weren’t there to see.)

Mural next to the clock.

Ghost sign recently uncovered.  Last time we were here there was a Coca-Cola sign on this wall.

Knights of Columbus Building – 1935

Nice mural on the front of this mill.

Muenster City Hall.

My companions on the trail.

Sacred Heart Catholic Church

House next to the church has a lovely wrap around porch.

Another shot of my walking companions.

We are going to cut thru the school grounds.  We were looking to see if they had any old buildings, but found none.

Our checkpoint was at this brand new bed and breakfast (Schillinghaus) which was having an open house.  The owner had streusel which was homemade and very tasty.

City park across the street from the Bed and Breakfast is where the Germanfest is held each April.

Old vacant factory has been painted to look like a German Village.
